About
A lathouse is a neologism coined by French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan to refer to apparatuses (namely techno-gadgets of some kind) that siphon off enjoyment and desire to form the alethosphere - a sort of symbolic network composed of one's individualized mode of enjoyment. If a lathouse is the smartphone or the personal computer, the alethosphere is composed of the numerous algorithms and data centers that record our enjoyment and serve us a digital world that continues to feed that enjoyment.
The designs and objects on this site are inspired by the implications of both the lathouse and the alethosphere as concepts; as such, this website serves as a collection of strange gadgets.
